Tea Shakthi fund net profit Rs. 51 million

The Tea Shakthi fund showed a net profit Rs. 51 million during the past eight months.

It is a sign of a constructive progress of the country, said Plantation Industries Minister D.M. Jayarathne.

He said that there are 13 tea factories under the Tea Shakthi fund whereas nine of them, namely, Deniyaya, Keppetipola, Magawela, Passara, Raigamkorale, Walahanduwa, Mawarala, Kotmale and Pansalatenna get a higher income. Alpitiya, Hiniduma and Balangoda has been factories with good production. The production of Gilimale tea factory was shut down but immediate measures will be taken to re-open it, CEO, Daya Aviruppola said.
