LTTE suspect nabbed

The Kandy Police Intelligence Unit has arrested a suspect along with a boat and engine in Kudapaduwa, Chilaw on Sunday evening for allegedly spying movements in the Colombo Harbour for the LTTE.

The suspect was arrested on information revealed by an LTTE cadre under Police custody. "The suspect who is a fisherman was provided a 17 foot fiberglass boat and 25 horse power engine by the LTTE to observe and furnish information of sea movements from Chilaw area to the Colombo Port," he added. He noted that the suspect was on the payroll of the LTTE disguising as a fisherman.

The Chilaw Police are investigating.
