MERCOSUR, EU Sign Agribusiness Accord

Uruguay: The Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) and the European Union (EU) will enhance the funds of an animal health cooperation project.

Ultimas Noticias daily says the goal of this accord in force until May 2011 is pairing veterinary and phytosanitary terms to match future food control standards. The agreement with MERCOSUR members Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina will rely on a $10m budget while the EU will contribute the remainder.
