Obama’s Nobel win for ‘promises’ only - Cuba

CUBA: US President Barack Obama’s surprise Nobel Peace Prize win Friday rewarded his “promises and good intentions” but not concrete results, official Cuban media said.

The Nobel win rewarded Obama’s “promises and good intentions... with only nine months in power and little concrete results to show,” said the official Cubadebate website, to which Cuban leader Fidel Castro regularly contributes opinion articles. Cubadebate also criticized the fact that the US House of Representatives passed a 680-billion-dollar defense authorization bill the day before Obama became the third sitting US president to win the peace prize

The two Cuban national newspapers Granma and Juventud Rebelde refrained from commenting on the win.
