Kandy District athletic meet on October 13 and 14

The annual athletic championship of the Kandy District Athletic Association will be worked off at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy, October 13 and 14 commencing at 8 a.m. each day.

Over a hundred schools from the Kandy district comprising over 2,000 athletes will participate at this meet. Deputy Inspector General of Police Central Province (West) Pujitha Jayasundera who himself was a fine athlete during his days at Dharmaraja College and Yogananda Wijesundera - a former National Athletic coach are the guests of honour on the opening ceremony.

The Chief Guest at the closing and awards ceremony will be one time motor racing star and Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Nilanga Dela Bandara.
