Eighteen member rugby pool for Borneo Sevens

The Selection Committee of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union has
picked three schoolboys in the 18 member pool picked in preparation for
the Borneo Sevens in Malaysia on October 31 and November 1, 2009.
Kingswoodian Roshan Weeraratne, Dharmaraja’s Darshana Etipola and
Isipatana’s Vishawamithra Jayasinghe have been included in the pool
while the experienced duo of Pradeep Liyanage and Saliya Kumara make a
welcome return to the side after missing the Shanghai Sevens.
With Ronnie Ibrahim who coached the Sri Lanka team, having resigned
as coach the Interim Committee of the SLRFU will name a new coach for
the Sri Lanka Sevens team.
Dharshana Etipola and Roshan Weeraratne have been rewarded for their
excellent performances in the Youth Rugby Asiad in Hong Kong.

Lasantha de Costa, Dushanth Lewke, Dinesh Kumara (all from CR and FC),
Nuwan Hettiarachchi, Samantha Lakshan, Suranga Pushpakumara, Ravi
Jayasuriya (all from Navy), Niranjan Wickramaratne, Sharo Fernando (CH
and FC), Saliya Handapangoda (Army), Dharshana Etipola (Dharmaraja),
Vishwamithra Jayasinghe (Isipatana) Roshan Weeraratne (Kingswood). |
