‘Victory demonstrates sense of patriotism’

The executive member of Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya and Purvaramadhipathi Ven. Pothane Dhammananda Thera commenting on the UPFA victory at the recently concluded Southern Provincial Council Election has said that this election result has demonstrated the sense of patriotism and gratitude of the people towards President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

The three-decade war was brought to an end. The people of the South have taken a good decision.

It is time the preferential voting system is replaced with the old system of electoral based one in Sri Lanka.

“I am confident that President Rajapaksa will definitely bring back this electoral based system to develop the country soon,” Ven. Thera said. With the increasing popularity of the Government, Ministers will have to work hard for the benefit of the people, Ven. Thera added.
