Sudath makes Swayan jatha

Award winning teledrama director Sudath Rohana who had made many
noteworthy creations like Uthunwankande Sardiyel, Karuwala Gedara, Katu
Imbul, Ambu

Dharuwo, Wana Wadule Wasanthaya, Badde Gedara and Yugavillakuwa had
started work on his newest teledrama Swayanjatha.
The muhurath ceremony of the project was held recently amidst many
well known figures and well wishers in the scene.
Swayanjatha is based on Samaraweera Wijeyasinghe's novel of the same
title which clinched the Swarna Pusthaka award last year. The teledrama
will be a Serenity Entertainment production lead by figures like H.D.
Premasiri, Bandula Ekanayake, Channa Fernando and Bandara Ehaliyagoda.
The story is set in the backdrop of the rural village where
auspicious play a key role in the lives of the individuals. It centers
on the situations faced by a childless couple, Udenis and Pabalina,
while seeking the help of a Buddhist monk. Though Pabalina begets a
child the fact that the child bears a strong resemblance to another
party other than the father causes problems in their harmonious life.
Several tragic episodes follow the birth of the child which reflects the
strange nature of human existence.

Telented actor Jagath Chamila takes on the lead role while well known
faces like Chathurika Peries, Palitha Silva, Semini Iddamalgoda, Janak
Permalal, Damitha Abeyratne, Sriyani amarasena, Roshan Pilapitiya,
Hemasiri Liyanage, Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Chinthaka Kulathunga,
Athula Pathirana, Prageetha Rathnayake, Anuruddhika Paddukkage, Ferni
Roshani and others portray some significant roles. Sarath Dharmasiri is
penned the script while K.A. Dharmasena is the cameraman. Bandara
Ehaliyagoda panned the lyrics of the theme song which will be set to
music by Rohana Weerasinghe.
The editor is Chanaka de Silva, associate director is Mahinda Prasad
Masimbula, the art director is Deepthi Mangala soma and the make up
artist is Nalin Permathileke. The other assistant directors working on
the project are Chamara Chinathaka and Chamil Praboda Ratnayake.
The production manager is Gunatileke Ranawaka and the hari dresser is
Sammy Perera.
Swayanjatha will unfold on ITN at the beginning of next year. |
