Pentagon to withdraw troops from Iraq

US: Ray Odierno, top US commander in Iraq, said on Wednesday the USA will withdraw 4000 soldiers from Iraq next month, as part of the strategy that gives priority to Afghanistan.

National press revels a summary of the document, to be launched by the commander this Wednesday in audience before the House Armed Services Committee. If the withdrawal is fulfilled, about 120,000 US soldiers will be out of Irag.

However, there will still be from 30,000 to 50,000 troops after the planned deadline of the end of August, 2010.

According to the document, the number of US contractors have been reduced to 115,000. Washington, Prensa Latina
