Cabinet decisions
Transfer of rented houses to Tenants or Occupiers free.
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Local Government
and Provincial Councils Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon to make
amendments to the Local Government Housing Act No: 14 of 1964 amended by
the Local Government Housing (Amendment) Act No: 63 of 1979 to transfer
the ownership free of houses rented out to the tenants or occupants on a
monthly rent not exceeding Rs. 100 by the Local Authorities and submit
the draft Act to the Legal Draftsman for drafting the amendment.
Construction of new building for Department of Motor Traffic, Jaffna
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Construction and
Engineering Service Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to entrust the
Construction of a new building for the Building Department with external
service for Department of Motor Traffic at Jaffna to State Development
and Construction Corporation, deviating from Tender procedure, for about
Rs.19 Million at rates approved by the Standing Technical Committee of
the Ministry.
Placement of newly recruited Sri Lanka Educational Administrative
Service Officers
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Education Minister
Susil Pramjayantha to recruit 225 officers to Sri Lankan Educational
Administrative Service Class III based on limited and open competitive
examination.
Amending the Act of Sri Lanka Freedom from Hunger Campaign Board
The Cabinet has approved a memorandum submitted by Agriculture
Development and Agrarian Services Minister Maithripala Sirisena to amend
the heading of the Cabinet Memorandum dated 15.05.2009 as "National Food
Promotion Board" and to enact the National Food Promotion Board Act in
place of National Freedom from Hunger Campaign Board Act No 15 of 1973
now in force and to amend the general objectives of the Board indicated
under No. 3 of the proposed Act, as in the foregoing manner, and to
inform legal Draftsman to draft amendments on same and subsequently
publish the draft in the Government Gazette and finally submit same in
parliament.
