Six year jail term for Fujimori

PERU: The Peruvian Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) sentenced on Wednesday former President Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000) to six years in prison for the crimes of phone interception, corruption, and illegal purchase of a TV channel and the editorial page of a national daily.

The sentence also orders him a payment of 24 million nuevos soles (eight million US dollars) to the State and three million nuevos soles (one million dollars) to each one of the affected people, including politicians, journalists and former legislators. Lima, Thursday, Xinhua
