HC reissues warrants on Prem Raj

The Colombo High Court yesterday re-issued warrant on Kanthilingam
Prem Raj who is indicted for granting Rs. 35 million to the LTTE from
the funds of the Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation with eight others in
2006.
Colombo High Court Judge Deepali Wijesundara re-issued the warrant
through the Foreign Ministry against K. P. Raj who is reportedly
residing in United Kingdom.
The Court on an earlier date issued the warrant after the prosecution
submitted that it was informed Raj was residing in UK.
The Attorney General filed indictment against Velupillei Sivanadiar
of Mulliayvali, Mullaitivu, Murugesu Shanmugarajah of Chenkaladi,
Batticaloa, Kanthilingam Prem Raj of Kandy Road, Kilinochchi,
Kathirakesu Ganeshalingam of Nawakkodi, Kopai South, Sinnaiyah
Shanthilingam of No. 128, Second floor, Highlevel Road, Nugegoda,
Eliyathambi Nadarajah of No 17 A, Fredric Lane, Colombo 3 and Krishna
Kutti Sukumaran alias Udayan, Balasubramunium Sri Scandarajah and
Kamalias Prabakaran of Kandy Road, Kilinochchi, before the Colombo High
Court.
They were charged with conspiring to grant Rs. 35 million to the LTTE
through the seventh accused, an LTTE member. |
