German Tech to recruit students from North-East areas

Trainees are recruited from Northern and Eastern Provinces to the Ceylon-German Technical Training Institute (CGTTI) this year to improve technical skills of students who were victims of the recently concluded war, Institute Principal G.S. Manchanayake told the Daily News. Vocational training on automobile technology will be given to the trainees and after its completion they will be sent to CTB depots in the area. The automobile course is one of the nine full time courses conducted by CGTTI.

“Due to the war, most depots were closed and this step is initiated to develop the transport facilities in the area,” he said. A written exam to select the trainees was held at the Tamil Central College in Vavuniya last Sunday.
