STC, Mobitel launch Senehase Upahara

The Sri Lanka State Trading (General) Corporation (STC) in
collaboration with Mobitel launched the Senehase Upahara package
yesterday.
All Upahara subscribers and those who wish to obtain the Senehase
Upahara package are entitled to five supplementary Senehase Upahara
connections and a special priced internet package.
The latest offer will enable members within the Senehase Upahara
group to enjoy low call rates and high speed Mobitel internet
connection.
Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel Chairperson, Leisha De Silva Chandrasena
said together with STC, Mobitel will enhance the benefits to recognize
their support. In keeping with President Mahinda Rajapakse declaring
Year 2009 as the National Year of ICT and English, Mobitel will
encourage them to become e-citizens.
“We have a customer base of over 550,000 at present and we hope that
it will increase further with the latest features added to the Senehase
Upahara package”, she said.
Minister of Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer
Services, Bandula Gunawardana said STC and Mobitel as national bodies
have taken steps to improve the package to offer benefits to the state
sector, pensioners and the clergy.
With the introduction of this package we created competency among the
other mobile service providers which also benefited the country’s
economy.
