Have you ever been to an arts exhibition and been momentarily
tongue-tied? Well if not, you missed a wonderful opportunity. 'Joyful
Expressions' was one such exhibition, where the young students of
Lathifa demonstrated their artistry by showcasing their talents to the
public. This event was organised to create awareness and to raise funds
for the Leonard Cheshire disability Resource Centre. It is impressive
that children of this are
concerned about the differently-abled children and that they are
utilising their talents to help them by organising this event. This
further goes on to show that these children care for other children
their age.
This exhibition comprised the works of twelve young and upcoming
artists, namely Purrvaja Jayakumar, Parami Danwatte, Oshana De Mel,
Hannah Somasundaram, Kiran Muthukrishnan, Thisuri Samarasinghe, Ranul
Seneviratne, Kanchini Chandrasiri, Zainab Akbarally, Inesh Gooneratne,
Talya Cassim and Mevindu Perera .
The vivid and rich colours the children had used, added ample colour
to the Lionel Wendt Art Centre. The uniqueness of this exhibition was
that is showcased the talents of a differently-abled young girl. The
children had drawn their masterpieces based on various themes and these
drawings were simply splendid.
