President decries false propaganda

Certain leaders who want to internationalise Sri Lanka’s domestic problems without trying to solve them locally are trying to spread false propaganda against the Government which eradicated terrorism that dogged the country for three decades, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said.

UNP complaints against Govt not justifiable - Minister

Chief Government Whip Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardane yesterday requested Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe to disclose to the House whether he had made any complaint against Sri Lanka to the EU to discontinue with the GSP plus tax relief to Sri Lanka.

Polling cards distributed

The distribution of official polling cards for the Southern Provincial elections commenced on September 23 in the Galle, Matara and Hambantota districts. The distribution will be continued till October 2. Eligible voters who fail to receive their polling cards could collect them from post offices in their area of residence.
