Supersized baby born in Indonesia
INDONESIA: An Indonesian woman has given birth to a 8.7-kg baby boy
in a hospital in North Sumatra province, local media Jakarta Globe
reported Thursday.
The big baby, 62 cm long, was delivered by Caesarean section on
Monday, a staff member at Abdul Manan General Hospital in the town of
Asahan told the Jakarta Globe.
The staff member, who declined to be identified, said the healthy
baby was born to 41-year-old woman named Ani, who is a mother of three.
Records show the largest baby born in the country in recent years
weighed 6.9 kg and was born to a diabetic woman in Jakarta in 2007.
