Central Province in seven wicket win

A fine knock 58 with 8 fours by Heshan Thisera helped Central Province to defeat Western Province South outer by seven wickets to enter the semi finals of the Inter Provincial Under 17 Cricket Tournament organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and played at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala.

Batting first on a rain affected day Western Province South outer were skittled out for 105 in 26 overs in a match reduced to 28 overs due to rain.

Skipper and leg spinner Akila Jayasundera took 3 for 23 while Heshan Thisera took 4 for 25 to complete a good all-round performance.

The semi-finals and finals of this tournament is scheduled to be played at the Rangiri Dambulla Stadium in Dambulla at the end of this month.

Western Province South outer 105 all out in 26.3 over (Heshan Sameera 11, Ushara Duminda 31, Yasodha Eranga 11, Heshan Thisera 4 for 25, Akila Jayasundera 3 for 23)

Central Province 106 for 3 wickets in 23.1 overs (T. A. Premaratne 19, Heshan Thisera 58, Manoj Sarathchandra 10 not out)
