Rajani Thiranagama Memorial Lecture

The 20th death anniversary of Rajani Thiranagama, human rights activist and former Head of the Department of Anatomy, University of Jaffna will be commemorated on Friday, September 25, at the BMICH Committee Room "A" at 6 p.m. Rajani was the founder member of the University Teachers for Human Rights, Jaffna.

The Rajani Thiranagama Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Nandita Haksar, India's prominent Human Rights activist and Supreme Court lawyer.

The title of her lecture is "Resistance and the Politics of Fear".

For the past 25 years Haksar has worked as a human rights lawyer, campaigner and writer. She has set many precedents in human rights and refugees law.
