Indika Bandara and Malkanthi win Nestomalt Mini Marathon

Indika Bandara and Dhammika Malkanthi Weerakkody clinched the men's
and women's title respectively in the second stage of the Nestomalt Mini
Marathon race worked off in Ampara yesterday.
This event was conducted by the Athletic Association of Sri Lanka and
sponsored by Nestle Lanka Limited.
Meanwhile Sandun Shalitha (39.55 seconds) and Shyamali Dinusha (49.30
seconds) won the schools marathon which was worked off with a distance
of over ten kilometres. Over one thousand athletes participated in this
event which was flagged off by the chief guest DIG Ampara Ranjith
Weerasuriya from opposite the Ampara Public grounds.
The competitors proceeded through the main road while passing the
Tamil College, Hospital Road, Bandaranaike Balika Maha Vidyalaya and
went on to finish the race near the Ampara Public grounds.
