JVP has no right for people’s vote - Youth Minister

The JVP that destroyed the youth through their weapons culture and terrorism, has no right to tell the people to vote for their candidates at the Southern Provincial elections, Youth Affairs Minister Pavithra Wannaiarachchi said.

She was addressing a rally at Tissamaharama on Saturday in support of the UPFA candidates.

She said the UNP sheds crocodile tears to win the hearts of people since during its regime, it did not do anything for the downtrodden masses.

The JVP is now conspiring to create chaos in the UPFA regime because they have no alternatives, the Minister added.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa dawned a new era by wiping out LTTE terrorism completely.

He did not listen to international leaders because if he did, the task of wiping out LTTE terrorism would only be a dream.

A period of transition has already dawned in Hambantota and surrounding districts with the setting up of the sea port.

The youth of lower income families will benefit once the economic development rises, she said.
