Joes clinch under 17 cricket title

St. Joseph's College, Colombo romped to a four wicket win over Trinity College in their under 17 Division One cricket final played yesterday at CCC grounds.

Trinity College who batted first were able to get only 138 for 9 wickets, Rosco Thatil (3 for 24) and Hemantha Jaysundera (3 for 31) were the main wreckers of the Trinity innings.

The Josephians reached the victory target in 39.5 overs for the loss of six wickets.

Trinity College: 138 for 9 (Niroshan Dickwella 39, Janishka Premasinghe 36, Alwin Fernando 12, Rosco Thatil 3 for 24, Hemantha Jayasundara 3 for 31, Chathuranga Kumara 2 for 27).

St. Joseph's College: 139 for 6 in 39.5 overs (Rosco Thatil 35, Vidusha Jayasinghe 37, Kavin Bernards 24, Akila Jayasundara 4 for 26).
