Sri Lankans in Nagoya city in Central State, Japan, made a donation for war heroes to show their gratitude to security forces personnel for contributing the maximum to defeat the LTTE. The donation comprising 120 wheelchairs, 25 crutches and 100 portable toilets were officially handed over to Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa in a charm function held at the Defence Ministry premises on September 10. Defence Ministry’s Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Ioma Rajapaksa handed over the wheelchairs and some other donated items to the war heroes. Representing Sri Lankans in Nagoya, Chamila Priyanganie, G.A. Wimalawathi, Chandana Hettiarachchi, W.G. Premathilake, S. M. Jayalath, J.A. Siriwardena, P. de S. Kalinga, and Ms Wickramasinha participated at the event.
