No VIP refused British visa - Minister

Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama said the British High Commission has not refused to grant visa to Foreign Secretary Dr. Palitha Kohona or any other Sri Lankan VIP. Bogollagama made this announcement in reply to a question raised by UNP MP Ravi Karunanayake on certain media reports of visa being refused to Dr. Kohona.

Minister Bogollagama said the UNP’s attempts to misinterpret what actually was reported in the media was meant to gain narrow political objectives.

The Minister assured the House that there was no refusal to issue a visa by the British High Commission to Sri Lankan officials and politicians.
