Highest number of passes at CIMA convocation
Three hundred and twenty four passed finalists - the highest number
to ever pass a single diet of the Top CIMA examination in Sri Lanka
received their certificates at the biannual convocation of the CIMA Sri
Lanka division for new passed finalists and members held on September 9
at the BMICH. The results of the May examination is a 17 percent
increase from the last examination diet in November 2008.
Sixty seven newly elected Associate and Fellow members and 13 Sri
Lankan prize winners including a Sri Lankan world prize winner at the
May 2009 examination also received their certificates and gold medals at
the ceremony for their outstanding accomplishment.
Twenty-year-old Maleen Abeydeera, CIMA's latest world prize-winner,
scoring the highest marks in the world (94) for Financial Accounting and
Tax Principles at the May 2009 Examinations was given special
recognition for his creditable achievement.
The chief guest at the function, CIMA's Director Brand, Ray Perry
said, "In the year that CIMA celebrates its 90th anniversary, the
impressive performance of CIMA Sri Lanka's members and students
demonstrates that the institute is still at the cutting edge when it
comes to attracting and nurturing the business leaders of the future."
South Asia and Middle East, Regional Director, Bradley Emerson,
thanked all passed finalists at the convocation for having acquired the
global skill set with CIMA. |
