Thousand jobs provided with factory opening in Trinco

Thousand jobs have been provided following the opening of the Tri Star Apparel Exports factory at Thambalagamuwa in the Trincomalee district last week. The Tri Star Apparel Exports factory was set up under a BOI Project to export babyware products to Europe.

The newly opened factory

The President of the Tharunyata Hetak Program Namal Rajapaksa, the chief guest opened the factory by cutting the first piece of cloth. He said his organization provides help to the young devoid of race, religion or caste so that they could contribute to the development of the country.

He stressed the importance of vocational training to develop the skills of the young.

The youth has to be financially stable so that they could undertake more responsibility in terms of developing the nation.

He thanked the Chairman Tri Star Apparel and the BOI officials for setting up the factory and was glad that several youth in a rural area have found employment.

Tristar Apparel Chairman, Kumar Devapura said he was happy to set up a factory in a difficult area and provide employment to persons to uplift their economy. He said, "President Mahinda Rajapaksa, after assumption of office, requested me to set up five garment factories in difficult areas to provide jobs to poor people in villages." Meanwhile President Mahinda Rajapaksa in a message said he was happy that the first apparel factory was set up following the defeat of terrorism after three decades of war. The nation had been rid of terrorism and people can enjoy the fruits of freedom.

The Government will also undertake the challenge of providing facilities for the people.

With the reawakening programs such as the Uthuru Wasanthaya and the Negenehira Navodaya several gigantic projects had been launched by the Government.

Eastern Province Governor Rear Admiral Mohan Wijewickremna and several other Ministers participated at the ceremony.
