MERCOSUR to discuss foreign trade
Brazil: The first meeting of Foreign Trade (ENCOMEX) of the
Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) will be held September 16 and 17
in Foz de Iguazu, state of Parana, revealed an official source.
The secretary of Foreign Trade of the Brazilian minister of
Development, Industrial and Foreign Trade, Welber Barral, informed that
the meeting will be attended by authorities and business persons from
the bloc countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) and
Venezuela that is not yet a full member of this regional institution.
He pointed out that the meeting will debate important subjects such
as government actions to promote exports and strengthen regional
integration.
Barral added that in ENCOMEX-MERCOSUR Brazil will share with partners
of the bloc positive experiences achieved during 12 years of development
of similar events promoted by the Minister of Foreign Trade.
He explained that in these 12 years 135 events have been held in 80
municipalities adding that during this period Brazilian sales abroad
went from 52.982 billion in 1887 to 197 billion in 2008
