Gold and Silver Cup finals today

Saunders Sports Club, the defending champions of the Harcourts Gold Cup will confront the Ratnam Sports Club in the final of the Harcourts Gold Cup today at redeveloped City Football League Ground, Slave Island at 4 pm.

The Silver Cup final too will be played at the same venue at 2.30 pm with Java Lane SC meeting Sarasavi Sports Club from Rajagiriya.

Saunders Sports who lost to Ratnam SC in the semi-final of the Holcim FA Cup will go all out to take the revenge from the Kotahena Club.

The Ratnam SC minus few players who are on national duty will have to depend on young blood to deliver the goods. On the other side Saunders have a slight advantage with the above factor.

In the Silver Cup final, the home team Java Lane SC have a chance to oust the champions with their home ground advantage. They will definitely go flat out to grab the cup from the holders Sarasavi SC.

The tournament is organised and conducted by the Colombo Football League sponsored by Harcourts (Pvt) Ltd.
