Hettiarachchi and Perera clash in boys under 19 final

The Sri Lanka schools Badminton championship 2009 organized by the Sri Lanka schools badminton association which is now in progress at the St. Thomas College indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia.

This annual event is worked off under five age categories and this year 4,175 participants from 173 schools around the island are taking part, from that 1,031 contenders were able to reach the final round.

In the boys under 19 age category Nuwan Hettiarachchi from Ananda College Colombo and H.S. Perera from Dharmaraja College, Kandy will meet in the all important finals which will be worked off on Sunday.

Also in the girls under 19 category Nayomi Senaratne of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo will meet R. Sachi from Devananda College, Ambalangoda in the first semi final while in the second semi final Mansala Ranaweera from Musaeus College, Colombo will meet Sadaru Weerasinghe of Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo.

All the other boys and girls age category final round matches are in the quarter final stages and will be worked off tomorrow at the S. Thomas’ College indoor stadium in Mount Lavinia.
