Lakshmi de Silva
The strike called by some trade unions at the Ceylon Electricity
Board (CEB) was an utter failure. There are 50 Trade Unions but only
nine trade unions took part in yesterday's strike, CEB Chairman E.A.S.K.

Most employees had rejected the call to strike and reported for work
to cooperate with the Government's development plan to continue the
electricity supply uninterrupted, the CEB Chairman said.
