The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) which recently set up its regional knowledge centre at the Jaffna College undergraduate department premises, simultaneously initiated a move to identify and award the talent bestowed in the region by presenting 20 scholarships of ICASL courses for needy students in the region.

This move aims at providing a stable foundation for the students of the region who possess a significant talent in education. Several high ranking government officials including Minister of Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operatives and Consumer Affairs Bandula Gunawardena and Minister of Social Welfare and Social Services Douglas Devananda and other representative were present.

Welcoming this initiative of the ICASL the Jaffna College principal Noel A. Vimalendran praised the institute for not only bringing its global qualification to the doorstep of the region's students, but also assisting the needy students to voyage their educational career with the prestigious institute.

ICASL president Nishan Fernando said that it gives the institute immense pleasure to nurture young minds and drive them to the path of successful career paths, and the ICASL continues to nourish the younger generation of the Northern Province, he said.
