MTI Technology Forum

On IT-business alignment:

MTI Consulting will launch the Technology Forum on September 24, at Ceylon Continental Hotel. The forum, based on insights further to an ongoing survey amongst CEOs and CIOs, will be driven by senior corporate leaders including Chief Operating Officer, Millennium IT, Dr. Anush Amarasinghe, General Manager Sri Lanka, Virtusa, Madu Ratnayake, CEO Sri Lanka Institute of Nano-Technology (SLINTEC), Ravi Fernando, Chief Information Officer, Commercial Bank, Rohan Muttiah, Country Manager, Microsoft Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne and Executive Vice President/Head of IT Sector, JKH, Sujiva Devaraja.

The research presented at the forum is backed by MTI's Bangalore-based Research and Analytics Team. Their services include industry research, market scanning and intelligence as well as country studies.

MTI Consulting feels that at the strategic management level, there is an opportunity to strengthen the link between strategic direction and technology's impact on business. The forum extends to cover how technology can optimize business, the management of technology, risk management and IT enabled innovation.

The leader of MIT's Technology unit, Yusuf Ali Isaam said: "MTI firmly believes that technology's focus needs to be very firmly on delivering value for a bottom-line impact to the business.

Our forum hopes to create awareness on the need to clearly align IT investment, operations and performance management to desired business impact. Leave aside the economic climate and new IT spending; businesses need to measure, appreciate and optimize today's IT delivery for maximum contribution."
