Mexico to host LatAm food show
Mexico: The Latin American Food Show, the largest food and beverages
show in the continent, with venue in Cancun, Mexico, Sep. 2-4, will
exhibit more than 10,000 products of Latin American origin. The event
will count this year with a 45 percent plus of exhibitors, 310 in the
previous show, 450 in 2009, according to the general director Armando
Zenteno.
Countries like Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia,
Cuba, Costa Rica, Spain, US, Haiti, India, Ireland, among others will
participate in this food party.
The event also includes a contest of Latin American chefs, who must
use the products of the traditional cuisine of their countries, Zenteno
reported.
Some conferences sessions will take place in the mornings, like the
one to be given by Chilean Agriculture Minister Marigen Hornkohl, to
talk about the program Chile, an agricultural and food power. According
to organizers, LAFS is an opportunity to show Latin American food to the
rest of the world and get a higher place in the international food
market with the variety and richness of Latin American and Caribbean
cuisine.
