Tigo Rugby Carnival on Sunday

The first ever Tigo Rugby Carnival organized by the Tigo Sales Department of the Telepix Group of Companies in Kandy will be worked off at the Getambe Municipal ground on Sunday from 2 p.m. onwards.

This will be a seven-a-side rugby in the ‘tap rugby’ format and the winners will be awarded the ‘Telepix Trophy’. A total of six teams will participate and they will be grouped into three teams each in a group. The Chief Guest of the occasion will be the Chairman/Managing Director of the Telepix Group of Companies Nimal Peiris and the Guests of Honour will be Senior Manager, Dealer Services Tigo Limited Parakrama Wijeratne and Regional Manager - Business Management Dinusha Karandawatte.

In addition to the Telepix Trophy for the winners, there will also be trophies for the runners up, and cash prizes and a special trophy for the Player of the Tournament.

There will be also variety entertainment show. The organizers intend making this an annual event.
