HNB victorious

Razan Ruwanga with a top score of 26 points helped Hatton National Bank defeat Union Assurance 84-81 in a Mercantile B Division league Basketball match played at Otters Sports Club courts.

Others who made valuable contribution to the winners were Roshan Fernando 18 and Nirmitha Weerasekera 11. Union Assurance was in front 35 - 25 at half time.

Chaminda de Alwis was the top scorer for Union Assurance with 26 while Aruna Wickramage 24 and Isuru Perera got 16 contributed well for the losers.

In a 'A' Division game Dialog Telekom beat DFCC group 70 points to 66, at half time Dialog Telekom was in front 27 - 26.

Harshadeva de Silva and Gemunu Sandaruwan scored 18 points each for Dialog Telekom and Diuk Rajapaksa 12 points for the winning team.

Gayan Meedeniya top scorer with 21 points for DFCC, while Chamath Serasingha 18 and Maxwel Saranapala 13 too had good scorers.

MSBA Basketball tournament is conducted by Mercantile Basketball Association and sponsored by Hatton National Bank.
