CP police goes hi-tech

Senior DIG of the Central Province (CP) Gamini Navaratne has taken steps to computerise details of all police stations in the Central Province.

Twenty police personnel will be provided the necessary training at the computer section of the Science Faculty of Peradeniya University.

Accordingly, criminal activities coming under Kandy, Gampola, Matale and Hatton will be computerised for greater benefit of the general public, DIG Navaratne said.

Absence of these recorded criminal details at present have resulted in proper criminal analysis not being carried out by the police, he said.

Once implemented this program will also expose the shortcomings and irregularities taking place at police station level, the DIG said.
