Couple in forgery racket arrested

The Criminal Investigation Department conducting investigations into a massive racket of forged Green Cards, forged Social security Cards and forged driving licences yesterday took into custody a young couple from Boralesgamuwa police area.

The two suspects are alleged to have deceived several youths promising them jobs abroad including USA and had collected millions of rupees.

A special police team attached to the CID deployed by CID DIG Nandana Munasinghe are conducting investigations to ascertain whether the two suspects, now in custody, had deceived other persons promising them jobs abroad.

The CID DIG appealed to the public if they had been deceived by any suspects promising jobs abroad and not honoured to forward their complains to the CID on telephone numbers 0112447319 Director CID, or to 0112323683 and 0112392917.

After completing investigations the two suspects will be produced before Court, said the CID investigators.
