Sampath Bank in 67-54 win over NTB

Sampath Bank beat Nations Trust Bank by 67 points to 54 in the Mercantile 'A' Division League Basketball match played at Otters Aquatic Club Basketball Courts.

Nations Trust Bank was in the lead at half time by 32 points to 28.

Mithila Abeysekera was the top scorer for the winning team with 18 points. Thisira Chaturanga scored 15 points while Veranth Bastian and Chamath Dhanawansa obtained 10 points each.

Prageeth Pushpakumara was the highest scorer for Nations Trust Bank. Manjula Jayarathna collected 12 points and Gerry Cooray 15.

N.D.B. Bank overcame Softlogic Group by 57 points to 51 in the Mercantile 'E' Division League Basketball Encounter played at same venue.

N.D.B. was in the front at half time by 31 points to 24.

Lalith Weerasekera scored 14 points for NDB and Ushan Wijesinghe and Hasitha Samarasinghe obtained 10 points each.

Rusiru Ranatunga was the top scorer for Softlogic with 35 points. Hasan Zain got 12 points.

The tournament is being conducted by Mercantile Basketball Association and sponsored by Hatton National Bank.
