SPC election:
Three war heroes contesting under UPFA
Three disabled war heroes will contest the forthcoming Southern
Provincial Council election from the UPFA for the purpose of serving
families of war heroes in the area.
The Southern Provincial Council election deadline for nominations
expires on August 28.
The three disabled war heroes will contest the election to ensure
victory for the Government, Western Provincial Councillor Captain
Pradeep Perera said.
He was speaking at a media conference at the Media Centre for Nation
Security.
He said our war heroes sacrificed life and limb for the motherland
and they also have all the rights to involve in politics like other
citizens.
Therefore the three war veterans will do a great job for the country
and the nation.
Galle District contestant Major Ajith Prassana said he and other two
colleagues will contest the Matara and Hambantota districts and will
focus on resolving issues of war heroes in the area who died and were
reported missing in action.
They will mainly work through “Ranaviru Sansada” to assist and
support thousands of families of war heroes in the three districts, he
said.
