Sports program to be launched for last quarter of 2009

Kandy District Sports Development Foundation will be holding an important meeting on the 25th of August, 2009 to discuss the Sports Program for the last quarter of the year 2009 headed by General Anuruddha Ratwatte, the President of the Foundation at the DIG's office, Kandy commencing at 5 p.m.

The Deputy President, DIG Pujith Jayasundera, the Secretary, SSP Ranjith Kasturiratne, Vice Presidents Sunil Munasinghe, Maurice Perera, Upananda Jayasundera, Coordinating Secretaries IP Kapila Bandara, Lesley Soyza and Sena Dissanayake and the other Executive members will also be present on this occasion.

It should be recalled that the Bogambara Grounds was uplifted to the present standard by the Foundation in the year 2000 headed by the present President of the foundation.

At the last quarter of the year, they intend to have the following sports competitions and Seminars in the Kandy District.

Soccer, Cricket, Road Races (different age groups) and Refresher courses for the coaches in various sports fields and to find the hidden talents of the Athletes. They have already completed Netball, Rugby and Tennis competitions and for all these projects they expect to spent Rs. 2 million out of the Capital of the Foundation.
