National Productivity Awards

The Labour Relations and Manpower Ministry will hold this year's
National Productivity Award Ceremony on September 3, 11 and 18 in
Kalutara, Kegalle and Polonnaruwa respectively.
The National Productivity Awards Ceremony for the Southern and
Western Provinces will be held in Kalutara, while the ceremonies for
Sabaragamuwa, North Western and Uva Provinces will be held in Kegalle,
and the Central, North and North Central Provinces in Polonnaruwa,
Ministry sources said.
Asked about the plans behind the National Productivity Awards
Ceremony Labour Relations and Manpower Minister Athauda Seneviratne
yesterday said they intended to encourage the public by organizing such
events to boost their productivity, he added, " I must reveal that Sri
Lanka is getting all the support it needs to increase its levels of
productivity from The Asian Productivity Organisation(APO)."
The APO is a regional intergovernmental organization, which was
established in 1961, with 20 member countries in Asia and the Pacific,
whose mission is to enable its members to achieve greater socio-economic
development through strategies of increasing productivity in all
economic sectors.
Minister Seneviratna said, they plan to give away the awards this
year to the most successful institutions that have reached their targets
through effective implementation of productivity strategies. He said ,
the National Productivity Awards Ceremony held in Sri Lanka has
attracted international attention over the last few years.
"The government plans to increase their individual performance levels
through its national productivity-based development strategy," he added. |
