Best Corporate Citizen Award 2009

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in its continuing effort to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) within the business community will hold the "Best Corporate Citizen Award 2009," on December 10 for the sixth consecutive occassion.

In keeping with the discipline of continuous improvement, the Chamber has decided to encourage companies to adopt a strategic approach to CSR, which will strengthen a company's commitment to CSR. The application has been re-oriented to reflect this approach.

In a bid to encourage more participation, the following categories will be among the awards this year; The Ten Best Corporate Citizens, category awards for the best performers in each of the five areas of evaluation (Environment, Community Relations, Employee Relations, Customer and Supplier Relations and Governance and Economic Contribution), the second runner-up, first runner-up and Winner of the Best Corporate Citizen Award, Three awards for organizations under the "Less than 10 Bn turnover" category, Three awards for best overall Special Projects and Certificate of merit for all projects that achieve a minimum specified standard.
