Stocks at the CSE ended yesterday higher with the ASPI gaining 8 points (+0.3 percent) to close at 2,530 while the more liquid MPI gained 18 points (+0.6 percent) to close at 2,869.

Turnover for the day was Rs 627 million with John Keells Holdings accounting for more than a third of it.

There was renewed interest in the company's shares following speculation that the Supreme Court decision which voided the 2002 transfer of prime port land with the sale of Lanka Marine Services to John Keells Holdings may be reversed. Source: First Guardian Equities
