Indian Congress asks Ministers, MPs Donate 20 pct salary to fight drought

INDIA: India's ruling Congress Party (CP) Wednesday asked all its member government ministers and lawmakers to give at least 20 percent of their salaries for drought relief, a senior party official said.

"The Congress has taken this landmark decision at its Congress Working Committee meeting today. The party has directed all its ministers, members of parliament and members of legislative assemblies of states to donate 20 percent of their salaries to the drought relief fund.
