Burgher Recreation Club Website launched

The website of the 113 year old Burgher Recreation Club (BRC) was recently launched at Club Premises under the patronage of the Western Province Governor Alavi Moulana and President of BRC, DIG Jayantha Paranathala.

The website www.BRC.lk includes club history, sports event calendar and picture gallery. Burgher Recreation Club was formed in the year 1896. In November 9, 1901 BRC won their first ever cricket match.

July 31, 1915 The club was renamed as Burgher Recreation Club (Formally Bambalapitiya Recreation Club).

In 1922 a new pavilion was built. BRC was adjudged as the cricket champions of the year 1925. BRC star cricketer B.R. Heyn was elected to Captain of the Ceylon Cricket Team in the year 1947.
