Several container loads of war like material hidden in the Venawi jungle in Pudukudidyiruppu by the LTTE prior to its defeat were recovered by officers of the Central Province intelligence unit during operations carried out on Monday.

The find included three container load of candles, two container load of blood transfusion tubes and a container load of boots, pistol cases and belts.

A spokesman for the intelligence unit said the candles are locally manufactured and investigations are on to ascertain how it went into LTTE hands.
