Bountiful big onion harvest

A bountiful harvest of big onions are flooding the Dambulla Economic Centre, market sources said.

Big onion growers in the Dambulla agricultural region are reaping good harvests from their fields as a result of fine weather conditions and effort, sources said.

Meanwhile, agriculture officials said at least 60,000 metric tons of big onions would be reaped by Dambulla big onion growers by the end of this season.

The wholesale price of big onion ranged from Rs. 45 to Rs. 50 last week.
