Timely decision, says Premier:

Nanasala centres in village temples

Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka speaking at the opening ceremony of the 599th Nanasala IT centre at Arakawila Sandagiri Viharaya, Ingiriya said that President's decision to use the village temple on Nanasala centres was a timely one in the present context.

In the past, there was a nexus between the village and the temple. The development of the village was centred on the temple. This connection between the two began to disintegrate gradually with the country becoming a white co

lonial state.

It is necessary to restore this relationship. We must make the temple of the village a resource centre so that the children, youth and everyone of the village will stand benefited, Prime Minister said.

Speaking on the Security situation in the country, Prime Minister said that all decisions except the decision to use bullets world be still in force as in the recent past and added that we couldn't think the terrorist activities had come to an end just because the leader was no more in the scene.

We still receive information that there are explosives brought into Colombo. We continue investigations into all these matters. Security measures will not be relaxed until such time the security situation is completely secure, the Prime Minister said.
