Leak in AL Biology paper:

Exams chief wants CID probe

Examinations Commissioner General has requested the IGP to initiate a CID investigation to ascertain the truth about allegations about a leak in the 2009 G.C.E. AL examination Biology question paper before the commencement of the examination and submit a report.

This follows newspaper reports about a leak in the question paper, said Education Ministry Secretary Nimal Bandara.

Bandara said reports alleged that a tuition master in the South had issued a probable question paper to his students in advance which contained questions similar to the A/L Biology question paper issued by the Department.

However, the Examination Department has tallied the tuition master’s question paper with the official Biology I and Biology II question papers and found no similarity between them in any way. The Commissioner General too has reiterated that the Biology question papers have never leaked in their entirely or partly.
