Business Today TOP 10 Awards
The 'Business Today TOP 10 Awards' to honour the best corporate
performers in Sri Lanka for the year 2007/2008, were presented at a
ceremony at the Hilton Hotel, yesterday. Defence Secretary, Gotabhaya
Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest at the awards ceremony, a media release
said.
Business Today announced the TOP 10 for the year 2007/2008, in
recognition of their superior performance.
John Keells Holdings is at number one with the Group having
consistently secured a position in the Business Today TOP 10 and also
having been awarded the number one position previously.
The other positions from number two to ten go to Sri Lanka Telecom,
Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka, Commercial Bank of Ceylon, Dialog
Telekom, Hatton National Bank, Lanka IOC, Carson Cumberbatch, Aitken
Spence and Company and Cargills (Ceylon).
Business Today has since 1998, regularly conducted its own survey of
top corporate performers and recognised and honoured the best of the
best. The annual survey is based on published financial information of
companies listed on the Colombo Stock Exchange. Business Today TOP 10
Company ranking has earned its place in the Sri Lankan business
calendar, and to be among the Top 10 is significant proof of an
organisation's success.
These companies have justified their business prowess by consistently
outshining others in their performance.
Business Today is guided by the principle of allowing equal

acceptable and comparable size to seize a place in the ranking.
